Client: Cook County 2022 2nd Installment Tax Bill is out, now what?

Did you fulfill your 2023 Resolution?
Was one of your 2023 New Year's Resolutions to create an estate plan to protect your family and assets? Operating through life thinking that is a future-me problem is a risky proposition. While no one wants to think about the unimaginable, it is imperative to make sure you are the person making decisions as to what happens to your children, property, your own medical care, and money.

We have a simple process to create your estate plan and bring you peace of mind. It starts with a brief call for us to understand your needs. Next, we will send you a questionnaire. This is honestly the hardest part of the process. At this point, you make the tough decisions- what do you want doctors to do when your condition won't improve, who gets the children, what happens to your bank accounts, property, and retirement accounts. Once you return this questionnaire, we draft your plan.

Upon approval, we meet with you to sign all the documents. You will leave that day with all your estate planning documents in hand. We will explain clearly how to move assets into your trust. Additionally, we have the ability to move your home from your individual name(s) into your trust, so you do not need to do this step yourself, as most firms require.

Don't forget, estate plans are not just for married couples with children. It is critically important that anyone that owns property in Illinois or has $100,000 in property has an estate plan. Without it, the state may decide who gets your assets without knowing you or your circumstances.

To check creating an estate plan off your 2023 to-do-list, email us now to get started.
